Dragon Figurines
When I was a youngster, I utilized to be quite fond of dragon figurines. As a matter of truth, I had pewter Dragon figures all over my room. Some of those dragon antiques were fantastic. My favorite one was about 2 inches tall and standing upright on 2 legs like a person. It had a red crystal it in one of its claws and was apparently breathing fire. As I have actually grown older, my dragon antiques have actually grown more sophisticated. A trip to Chinatown in San Francisco was really a change point for me. I understood how many more interesting styles of Dragon posters and figurines there were. You can truly get virtually anything you can think of. Chinese dragons look much different from, the Western dragons. They don’t have the big inflamed bellies and they aren’t seen as evil. As a matter of truth, in Chinese culture, dragons are viewed as good luck.
My Chinatown dragon figurines have a much different look than the pewter figures that I utilized to gather. Often, they are installed on a background that resembles an ocean. I’m not exactly sure why, although I have actually been trying to find out. Obviously dragons are associated with oceans to some degree in Chinese mythology. They have that wild hair and those rolling eyes the Chinese dragons all do, in addition to a wild serpentine appearance. You would not want to contend among them exactly, but they do not look like they’re to do you any damage. All in all, Chinese dragons are a lot more ambiguous beast, with a ferocious appearance and yet an excellent tempered nature.
My child has actually recently entered dragon action figures. Apparently, fantasy is huge news once again. I’m quite happy for this. Fantasy books were very popular when I was a kid, and is good to see toy knights, dragon figurines, and castles returning into design. I’m not as crazy about the wizards, however I suppose sword and sorcery do fit. Anyway, his Dragon action figures are quite remarkable. A lot of them have buttons that will make them open their jaws or swing their paws. I would have loved toys like that when I was a kid. I’m glad that there are such neat dragon figurines around for my child to have.
